Here is a Google Presentation I've created with pictures and hyperlinks for my students. This presentation is an introduction to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Here students will learn about the history of William Shakespeare's life, dramatic elements of his writing and characteristics of a play. After this presentation, they will watch Shakespeare in the Classroom. After these two introductory assignments, students get into groups and begin research a topic of their choice related to Shakespeare, The Globe Theatre, Elizabethan England, etc.
Following their group research, students create their own Google Presentation or a Prezi and teach the class about their topic. Here are the directions and rubric to the project.
This project falls into the SAMR model as best practice because it is students centered learning. Students have the opportunity to pick a topic and research questions of choice. They are deciding what aspects of Shakespeare's life and times they would like to become "experts on" and share their knowledge with their classmates. It also falls into the best practice model because students are researching and learning different multimedia platforms to learn about the topic.
